We stumbled upon an Air bnb rental , located near Port Stanley Main Beach (public beach) and although it was wonderful having our own little private beach (especially with very young kids), it was also nice to be able to take a stroll along the beach and find yourself in the middle of the crowd down at the pier at Main Beach where you can also enjoy lunch or grab a drink at GT’s patio right on the beach!
If you’re thinking of spending a night or two, check out The Windjammer Inn for a B&B experience. Conveniently located just a few minute walk from the “Main Beach”. There’s also “Little Beach” close by and is a smaller, shallower beach where younger kids may enjoy it
Our host was amazing and was so thoughtful to share with us her recommendations on places to go. You can head over to the town which is only a few minutes away. It’ll look like you blasted back in time with its vintage feel, don’t miss the delicious ice-cream at Broderick’s, great chef food and cocktails at Two Forks, Buccaneers for their great porch or Mackies for a historical fav with the kids (hotdogs and fries!). If you happen to be there on a Friday, check out Wildflowers Farm for their Friday Farmer’s Market.
All in all, this was such fun and as relaxing as it could get with 3 young kids. We made some wonderful memories and we will definitely be back again!
I think we may have found our own little piece of Hawaii, only a 2-hour drive away! Sandy beach (with some pebbles near the shore) and teal/blue waters, this little town has some serious beach vibes going on. If it wasn’t for the Canadian flags around, you’d think for a minute that you’re somewhere tropical.
