I remember with my first baby, I had to buy every item I came across because “I’ll need it”. Oh if I only I knew what I know today! After having two babies, I finally got it right the third time around. Here,I round up my top 15 must have items that I wish I had with my other babes or items I’ve had since the very beginning and can’t live without. These items are perfect for a baby registry or a gift for mama.

I absolutely love this tub. I was worried how I’d be able to shower my newborn on my own, but I was able to do so from day 1! Malek is 7 months now and we still use the sling making both my hands free.
What sets this apart from other loungers is their patented center sling where you lay your baby to rest. It’s designed to pull in and “hug” your baby. Super cozy! This item also makes a great baby shower gift.
For newborns I prefer these wraps, these were so easy to use and my babies were comfortable in them.
With my first baby, I bought the Baby Bjorn and didn’t like the way it wore on the baby and me. It was quite stiff. I researched the heck out of this one and compared it to the Ergo and Tula. I also did not want to buy both a wrap and carrier so I was looking for something soft and breastfeeding friendly. Bonus is that the same carrier wears from Newborn to 30 months; you can use the insert that comes with for older babies!
As the name suggests, this is pronto! I clip this to the stroller or leave it in the car for a quick grab and change wherever I am. I found it very convenient as the mat had pockets for the diapers and wipes so I didn’t have to dig in the diaper bag to reach them.
I have used their products for all my babies and myself. I have always used their full line of products for my babies be it the shampoo, body wash, diaper rash cream and lotions. For myself, I’ve used the bottom spray, milk making tea and the best nipple butter you’ll ever come across. All made with real, natural ingredients!
I finally caved and bought it when we moved to Canada and garbage pick up day was once every 2 weeks! Let’s just say, I wish I had this genie with my first babe! A little tip, subscribe with Amazon to save big on the refills.
I didn’t believe in this at first, but it works wonders for babies to sleep. This machine is simple and checks all the boxes. It works on rechargeable batteries which makes it portable, the white noise is non-looping, and it can play all night long without setting a timer. Everything you need it to do without going over the top.
Now I know why Sophie the Giraffe is so famous. Go for this one over the bigger Sophie. The rounded edges are great for grasping and soothing the teeth.
I was so nervous having a baby in peak winter (February), how would I take him out in his care seat in -20 °Cweather? The jolly Jumper is definitely a must have for winter babies. I used it throughout winter and didn’t need the snowsuit or even a warm pajama ever.
This kept baby’s things clean, sterile and from getting mixed up with all our dishes. It was easy to grab and go as it acted as storage for daily item.
It comes in a few sizes.
Honestly, I probably would not have bought this item if it wasn’t for my husband, but I have to say I’m so glad he did! This chair made a fuss on Instagram stories and earned the nickname “The Miracle Throne”. It has been to the beach, restaurants, road trip, showered in it and passed out on it. It comes with a strap where you can lock it onto any chair!
I love items that can grow with the baby and this is one of them. I started using it when babe was 4 months old and strong enough to hold his back straight. He plays, bounces and swivels in his chair while I need him to be distracted for a while so I can finish up a few things around the house.
I pumped everywhere! From Office storage rooms while sitting on boxes to friends houses to comfortably seated on the couch in my living room. The double electric pump made pumping life just that much more easier as it saved me a lot of time and was gentle on the boob! The suction cup is cushioned and made a difference compared to the Medela, which I bought at first and didn’t last more than a week before switching to Philips Avent.
We’re constantly sterilizing bottles, pump accessories and soothers from the very beginning. Definitely a must have.
If you’re having a baby, congratulations and if you already had a baby then congratulations! I had my own baby registry on Amazon, so all the items have been bought, used and abused before sharing. I hope it was helpful in your decision making process.
